Community Programming for 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC Students
The PSC’s BIPOC Talk and Queers 4 Peers portfolios host monthly drop-in community events for BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ students respectively. All our events are run by and for students that identify with each respective community.
These events bring BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ students together in a welcoming environment to do fun activities together, promote wellbeing, and engage on intracommunity issues in a casual, lighthearted manner.

TALKS and CARES Week
TALKS and CARES Week are biannual mental health awareness campaigns run by the PSC in November and March respectively.
TALKS Week
TALKS is an acronym that can be used to remember the steps for providing support to others:
- Tell them you care
- Ask gently
- Listen attentively
- Know your resources
- Stay in touch
The aim of the TALKS Week campaign is to spread the word that you don’t have to be an expert to help a friend. Each November, the PSC holds this week-long campaign to encourage members of the Queen’s community to support each other in times of need.
